Updating 99 Problems! Here we go!

Oh wow. So I just realized that I haven't updated this thing since last summer.

Gah, I am so sorry to anyone who actually reads this (thankyouthankyouthankyou) and cares about my writings.

Therefore! Here is the update you've all been waiting for! Soon-to-be followed by the long anticipated (by me as well) update of 99 Problems!!

I feel like jumping up and down for joy, myself (:

Sadly, there are only bad reasons for these updates coming about; namely, I had to drop out of school last month because I got seriously sick and I couldn't even read. Yeah, it sucked real bad up until the point where I discovered books on tape/CD - oh joy of joys!

So! Now that I have no school in my way and no other excuses like inability to read, I have decided to tackle these stories once and for all.

My main hold-ups have been: 1) I got to a really boring 'transitional' place in the story and it was so uninteresting to even myself that I just didn't want to work on it, 2) I've decided to completely redo parts of my outline, which has been quite difficult since I want to make it good and end the same but cut out all the mostly cliched bits. [I think I have finally accomplished this! Huzzah!]

So, without any further delay, I am hastening to write up chapter 37 as soon as I finish here (my absolute favorite parts are coming up in chapter 40 and on).

99 Problems is back! OR My constant urge to edit...

Well, folks, it's been quite some time!

I feel like a jerk for not updating here like I said I would, but better late than never I suppose :)

Chapter 36 for 99 Problems is up! The reason it took so long is that I really didn't like where my outline was going. I pushed myself to create it in a single day, so as it progressed my ideas got a lot more blah and cliche. I'm going to keep what I have so far, but I have been doing some editing -- again.

The most extreme changes have been in the first few chapters, with a little dialog change here and there in the following chapters to make my characters less annoying and whiny. Also I feel it helps the story flow better and not get stuck on random thought processes I had at the time.

However, these unplanned edits may result in some information deletion, which I will note and (hopefully remember to) add back in for the final draft. While I may be okay with plot holes for the moment, it may leave readers totally confused, so I you see any discrepincies that interfere with your understanding of the story, point it out and I'll add a note somewhere or fix it.

I decided to completely scrap what I had of Chapter 37, so I project at least a week before it's uploaded.

In the mean time, feel free to reread the first few chapters and let me know what you think.

I'll try not to keep readers hanging for so long this time.

99 Problems - 35 up!

I finally posted chapter 35!

Stupid chapter 36 was giving me way more problems than it should. And I am insistent on sticking by my code of not posting until the next chapter is completed and the one following it is started.

That way this story WILL get finished. Because I am motivated by all my lovely readers!

Now we're approaching the good stuff...

Hopefully I will continue to stay as far away from cliche as possible. You have permission to figuratively beat me if I do not.

Computer Drama

Okay, so. I'm sitting there, right? And then:

...my computer freezes up.

Dude. Not cool.

So I manage to reboot and hurriedly back up my most important files. Luckily for both you and me, those include my writings.

Long story short, I'll be updating soon, but I have to figure out how to make my back up work with someone else's computer. So it may be a few more days.

I'm so excited.

'Why?' you ask?

Because I'm about to start posting the brand new, never-seen-before -- other than me, of course -- chapters for "99 Problems"!

:D

As psyched as I am, I'm also a little worried that I'll have the same writer's block problem that made this update take so long in the first place all over again. And I really REALLY want to finish this story. Especially since I know how it goes and want to get it all out there and written properly.

If you have any suggestions for keeping on track with such things, please let me know. Seriously. I need all the help I can get.

Future Update Projected Analysis:
I am aiming to update only after I have (a) the next chapter completed, and (b) have at least begun writing the chapter after that.

So since I have #35 completed and am working on #36 as we speak --type, whatever --and since I'm going to try and space the posts out (like once or twice a week depending on length), I'd say there will be updates for at least the next three weeks.

Hopefully, they'll keep going. And I'll keep writing. To keep them going.

Ain't Nothin' But a Number - Story Summary and Info

Summary and Random Info:

I started this story because I've always loved the whole fall-for-your-brother's-best-friend scenario, but I didn't want to make just another story with the same old predicaments (plus, so many other authors have done such a good job with it, I was kind've intimidated, haha!). So I added a little twist - Lydia finds herself having feelings for her younger brother's best friends.

I'm really proud of this story and idea, un-original as it may be, and I have the most fun time making Lydia squirm with all her new and awkward feelings.

Here's their respective ages:

When Lydia (born Dec 5th) is 19,
Milo (born July 5th) is 16 going-on 17 and,
Lewis (born Aug 22nd) is also 16.

Main characters are Lydia Alexander, her brother Lewis Alexander, and his best bud Milo DeLuca. Also to come are Milo's twin sisters and other college people (haven't quite got those figured out yet).

Two-and-a-half years makes all the difference when you're that young. Or does it...?

Summary and Random Info:

Have you ever heard that Jay-Z song, 99 problems? Well, if you haven't, then you should jump on Pandora or Jango - or commandeer your local rap-loving friend's iPod - and give it a listen.

This story, which centers on our lovely, super-competitive, English-majoring, broke-down-car-owning Aria Greico and her arch nemesis, Josiah Whelan, is extremely loosely based upon the song.

I decided I wanted to try my hand at the "every-thing-goes-wrong" cliche, without making it obviously cliche - outside of the premise, of course. I strive to make Aria, Josiah, and the other characters as realistic as possible.

There will be 99 chapters, 100 if I decide on an epilogue, each one focusing on one main problem, not all of them being events. I have it all planned out until the very end, so as long as I stay disciplined it will get completed.
